Opening Night of Sa'dia Rehman's "Seeds of Discord"
Two Moon Art House and Cafe (315 4th Ave, Brooklyn) will be hosting the official opening of Sa’dia Rehman’s first NY solo exhibition featuring a new installation and works on paper, on Nov 10th 6-8pm.
Sa’dia Rehman has shared her work internationally and nationally at venues such as the Jersey City Museum (2010), Grey Noise Gallery (2008) Exit Art (2007) and Queens Museum of Art (2005). She works with themes such as isolation, shame and hidden social boundaries, which are depicted through formal strategies like repetition of patterns and accumulation of words. Her installations, sculptures, and works on paper explore cultural assimilation and expose subjects that are considered taboo such as sexuality, power hierarchies and normative ideals around gender.
The exhibition will be hosted at Two Moon Art House and Cafe (located at 315 4th Ave between 2nd and 3rd Streets in Park Slope). Two Moon is a neighborhood art gallery, performance space and coffee house, serving homemade baked goods, seasonal entrees and delicious Intelligentsia coffee. Two Moon's organic and fair trade treats and coffees are perfectly paired with rotating visual art exhibits and live performances.
