New York

My name is Andrea Millen and I hail from Portland, Oregon.  I grew up in a creative home and was introduced to the arts at a very young age.  I use acrylic, charcoal, pen and ink, and mixed media.

In August 2011, I graduated from Pacific University with a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology.  After some soul-searching and a longing for adventure, I moved to New York City.  Currently, I am pursuing art, psychology, and expanding my experience connecting and learning from people in New York.

My mantra is ‘let it go, and go’; this simple statement embodies the ability to move through life in a flexible, present way. The awareness to realize when to let ideas, thoughts, or opinions go can offer the freedom to choose the next direction.

Navigating life with this point of view has helped me become more aware in the present moment.  When I am able to let go of negative, hindering thoughts, I feel liberated to express myself genuinely.

The art of therapy and non-verbal expression through media are both innovative endeavors.  Through crafting visual art and an open therapy space for clients and myself, I’ve taken the mantra ‘let it go, and go’ to heart.
