As the guitarist for the Guys All-Star Shoe Band on Garrison Keillor's popular "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show, Minnesota native Pat Donohue gets to show off his incredible fingerpicking skills on old blues, jazz, and swing tunes. Donohue, the 1983 National Fingerpicking Guitar Champion, takes inspiration from blues greats like Blind Blake and Robert Johnson and also jazz maestros like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. He won a Grammy in 2005 for taking part in "Pink Guitar," a compilation of Henry Mancini tunes on acoustic guitar. This is his first solo appearance at the Good Coffeehouse after sitting in with Mary Flower last season.
