About the artist:
Leah is originally from upstate New York- New Paltz, if you've heard of it. She now lives in Brooklyn and has been "creating" in one way or another for her entire life; always through different outlets. Growing up, she took ceramics classes and ever since then she has loved getting her hands dirty using clay and collaging. Only within the past year and a half -after moving to Brooklyn, where she had to function with a small work space-Leah has found a knack for combining her love of jewelry and accessories with her interest in ceramics. She started with making earrings out of clay and pressing found objects and various metal pieces into the clay for decoration. This vision has also led her to crafting pendants from clay, as well as rings out of various metal wires, beads, buttons, stones and shells. Leah finds great inspiration in outdoor activity such as biking, hiking, being near (on or in) the water and even walking in the park. With the endless encouragement from family/friends and loved ones she continues to feel the creative juices flow pushing her to grow as an artist.
