Every Monday in August, there will be two great acts at Barbes, Brooklyn's place for unique musical entertainment.
At 7pm, Quaver & Friends, a Brooklyn-based duo T. Griffin and Catherine McRae that "weave low-tech electronics around songs sturdy enough to stand up even if the power goes out" will be joined by special guests to give Barbes audiences a first peak at their new material and music like you've never seen.
At 9:30pm, Chia's Dance Party & Friends brings the Colombian marching band into the modern, urban setting, with an eclectic, fun sound that will get you dancing. The brainchild of Martin Vejarano, with Ben Stapp - tuba; Alex Terrier - soprano saxophone; Justin Wood - alto sax and flute; Rafi Malkiel - Bombardino and Martín Vejarano - drums & composition.
