Brooklyn Museum comes alive every Thursday at 7 p.m. with a series of special programs. Cool, with a distinctive Brooklyn vibe, the series includes interviews, performance, film, and eclectic, eye-opening tours. All events are at 7 p.m. unless noted. The lineup is as follows:

In Conversation: Following a performance by a group of legendary poets and writers, poet and publisher jessica Care moore, the founder of Black Women Rock!, discusses the state of black poetry and literature with painter and author Danny Simmons, the co-creator of Def Poetry Jam.

Performance: Iconic feminist group the Guerrilla Girls presents an interactive, multimedia performance that illustrates their history of using art and action to expose and critique discrimination, using examples from the newly released edition of their Art Museum Activity Book.
