Donnie Wahlberg on 'Blue Bloods' Set in Park Slope

Patch was able to get a shot of the actor on Eighth Avenue during the filming of "Blue Bloods" on Wednesday.

You may be tired if hearing about how a certain actor is in Park Slope for yet another movie or TV show. But, everyone likes to get a glimpse of the rich and famous now and again.

Filming at the now shuttered Montessori school on Eighth Avenue, between Carroll and President streets, for TV show “Blue Bloods,” Donnie Wahlberg (“Band of Brothers,” Righteous Kill, and The Sixth Sense) took a quick read over his script on the sidewalk on Wednesday.

A flock of photographers huddled around Donnie, whose brother is Mark Wahlberg (Boogie Nights, The Fighter), as he took a few minutes to read over some lines.

“Blue Bloods,” which is on CBS, is currently in its third season and is about a multigenerational family dedicated to New York City law enforcement. The TV show stars Walhberg, Tom Sellack (“Magnum P.I.” and “Jesse Stone”) and Bridget Moynahan (iRobot, Lord of War and The Recruit).  The TV crews were filming on Wednesday from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m.

Blue Bloods is one of my favorite shows. I like the way they intermingle strong family values and tradition with a compelling police story line. The sister, who play the Asst. DA on the show supposedely lives in Park Slope.

Homer, here's the story I wrote this morning about the 18th Street robbery which resulted in the death of the victim, a 67-year-old man from Long Island: http://parkslope.patch.com/articles/long-island-man-killed-during-18th-street-robbery?ncid=newsltuspatc00000003. Thanks for reading, Homer.

Thanks Will. I saw the NYPD chopper with spotlight flying overhead around 8:30pm. It looked like they were searching in Prospect Park.

Enough filming in the neighborhood. It is disruptive and obnoxious

It may be disruptive but not obnoxious

Very obnoxious, arrogant people who descend into your neighborhood, telling you you cant walk down your block, or leave your house until they finish the scene...that is obnoxious, lighting up your block in fhe middle of the night...obnoxious

Being that it is an election year, if you and other registered voters scream loudly enough, someoneRead More will hear you. This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
