Adult Swim's "Delocated" Filming on Fifth Avenue

A scene from the third season of Adult Swim's live-action mock-reality-show took place on the corner of Seventh Street on Wednesday.

On Wednesday night, at around 5:30 p.m., a man wearing a ski mask approached a silver Mercedes while a police officer stood close by with a mercenary-type, wearing a bulletproof vest and a handgun in a holster on his thigh.

But Park Slope needs not to worry for this was a scene made for TV. The set, between Sixth and Seventh streets, was a scene for the third season of “Delocated,” Adult Swim’s live-action mock-reality-show created by and starring Jon Glaser, the actor, comedian and TV writer.

“Delocated” is about a man named Jon, played by Glaser, who moves his family to New York City in order to star in a reality TV program. But there is a catch, Glaser is in the witness protection program and while being a TV star, he needs to protect his identity by wearing a ski mask and digitally scramble his voice.

The show also stars Todd Barry, Andrew Daly, Eugene Mirman and others. Mirman is a Russian stand-up comic and hitman who is hired to kill Jon.

The format is not unlike “The Office,” in the way it that it mocks a reality show setup, but is really a comedy.

Glaser is a five-time Emmy nominee for his work as a staff writer on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” He was also in the movies “Be Kind Rewind,” “Pootie Tang” and also guest-starred in the cartoon “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.”
