Come hear Adrian Van Young, who teaches writing at Boston College and Boston University, read from his debut collection of fiction, The Man Who Noticed Everything tonight at Community Bookstore.
The event, put on by Vol. 1 Brooklyn, starts at 7 p.m. at the Seventh Avenue bookshop between Garfield Place and Carroll Street.
Writers Adam Wilson (author of Flatscreen) and Rivka Galchen (author of Atmospheric Disturbances) will also join Van Young during his reading.
If you are on the fence about this event, maybe John Wray, author of Canaan's Tongue and Lowboy, can sway you:
“Adrian Van Young is the secret love-child of so many authors I admire, from Ambrose Bierce to H.P. Lovecraft to Sherwood Anderson to Tobias Wolff,” Wray writes. “The stories in this collection are not easily forgotten.”
Vol. 1 Brooklyn presents Adrian Van Young, Adam Wilson, and Rivka Galchen. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 7 p.m. at Community Bookstore, 143 Seventh Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.
