5 Things: Free Comedy at Rock Shop

Plus '80s meets bluegrass, a women's power tool workshop and today's alternate side info.

1. Laugh a little. If you're in need of a good time, you're in luck, because tonight is the monthly installment of Shotgunnin' It, a free comedy show at The Rock Shop. 249 4th Ave. 7:30 p.m. No cover.  

2. Make some art. 
Did you know LaunchPad has an artist in residence? Meet her tonight at a Theater-Making Workshop, where performance artist Nessa Norich will explain her process for developing unique performances and show you how to develop your own pieces. The workshop will also be held Wednesday. 721 Franklin Ave. bet. Park and Sterling, 7 p.m. Free.

3. Go country. Tonight at The Way Station you can hear The DeLorean Sisters + Buddy Hollers + Justin Rothberg Group. The evening starts with bluegrass versions of 80’s one-hit wonders, moves on to more traditional country/bluegrass and finishes off with a mix of jazz/world music/funk. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect, show starts at 8 p.m. No cover.

4. Tool around. Want to do it yourself? Learn how to use power tools and a little about repairing cabinets at BIG!Workshops: Know Your Tools: Women and Trans DIY 101.
