5 Things: Bigga Haitian at The Rock Shop

1. Check out a film series. Head to the Miyazaki film series at Brooklyn Academy of Music, running from April 5-14. Discover the magical characters and richly imagined worlds created by Hayao Miyazaki, the Oscar-winning master of Japanese animation. Bring the whole family to experience classics like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away on the big screen. BAM Rose Cinemas at 30 Lafayette Ave. Children 12 & Under: $9, General Admission: $12. 

2. Go to the Old Stone House. Violinist Julianne Klopotic, Pianist Joshua Pierce, and Cellist Lawrence Zoernig join forces to pay honor to one of the original social misfits of his time, Franz Schubert during the event Light and Sound Concerts: The Klopotic/Pierce/Zoernig Trio. The Old Stone House, 336 3rd St, Cost: $20.

3. Start planning the kids' summer activities. The Park Slope Day Camp is a private summer and holiday camp with locations in the Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Carroll Gardens and Bay Ridge communities of Brooklyn. Campers enjoy the wide variety of activities our camps offer. The Camp will have an open house Saturday, and presentations will begin at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. 339 8th St. Free.

4. Rock steady Reggae. Bigga Haitian is known as the first Haitian singer to break into the Jamaican reggae scene, tearing down national and cultural walls and paving the way for the next generation of Haitian artists. So hear Bigga Haitian and I Anbassa at The Rock Shop, 249 4th Ave for $12.
