What First: Islanders Stanley Cup, Nets NBA Champs or Atlantic Yards Towers?

Now with two sports teams and a construction date in December for a 32-floor residential tower approaching, the race begins.

With the New York Islanders signing a 25-year deal with Barclays Center, the new arena is now home to two professional sports teams, the first of which being the Brooklyn Nets.

But, as Atlantic Yards developer Bruce Ratner said during the ribbon cutting of the arena, on Dec. 18 construction will begin on the first of the 16 residential towers planned for the 22-acre plot.

So, the question is, which do you think will happen first?

Will the Brooklyn Nets win an NBA Championship? Will the Islanders win the Stanley Cup? Or, will the Atlantic Yards residential tower cluster, which could take 25 years, finish before the borough can claim to have a number-one sports team?

Come on, Brooklyn! Look into your crystal ball and let us know which one will come first in the comments section below!
