Weekend Rails

Here's your weekly dose of weekend subway service changes.

This will be a rough weekend for straphangers. Many changes will occur due to construction, but in preparation for the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the MTA and NYPD will be increasing security across the subway network. Make sure to give your self a little extra travel time this weekend.

Here’s the scoop on everything you’re looking at on the local subways this weekend:

  • Both the F and G trains skip Smith-9th Streets in both directions.
  • Utica Avenue-bound 3 trains skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Pkwy. To get to these stations, transfer to a 2 train at Nevins Street. For service from these stations take the 4 train to Franklin and transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.
  • 4 trains skip Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza, and Eastern Pkwy. To get to any of these stations, transfer to a 2 train at Nevins Street. For service from these stations take the 4 train to Franklin and transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.
  • No Q trains between Prospect Park and Stillwell Avenue. Take the B68 and free shuttle buses for express and local service between Prospect Park and Stillwell Avenue.
