Former Park Slope Rep. Major Owens Dies

Former Park Slope Rep. Major Owens, a New York City Democrat who served 12 terms in the U.S. House, died Oct. 21 at the age of 77.

He died of renal failure and heart failure, according to The Huffington Post.

Owens was first elected to the U.S. House in 1982 and served Park Slope until 2007. 

Report: Barclays Way Less Lucrative Than Advertised So Far

With roughly a year gone for the Barclays Center, critics and outspoken fans alike are taking a hard look at the numbers — and not just the Nets wins and losses.

J’eatjet? Gastrobar Debuts New Weekend Brunch Menu

J'eatjet? Gastrobar, which opened it's doors on 5th Avenue in Park Slope earlier this Summer, will debut a new 'Hair of the Dog' brunch menu on weekends.

According to Justyna Kocubinski of J'eatjet?, the gastrobar will be opening at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch menus that will change seasonally from time to time. 

Obama Arrives in Prospect Park

The President arrived in Prospect Park Friday to visit P-Tech in Crown Heights.
