What happened this week on Park Slope Patch.

This week may have been chilly, but more than just the weather made headlines.

In probably the biggest news of the week, on Wednesday the Panel for Educational Policy convened at Brooklyn Technical High School in Fort Greene and voted to co-locate the proposed on the John Jay Campus. Many parents, students and teachers showed up at the hearing to protest the proposal. Earlier in the week, columnist had a thoughtful piece on the relationship between Park Slope and the John Jay schools.

Freddy’s announced that it will finally in the Slope on Feb. 4 and let Park Slope Patch come over for a at the new location.

On Thursday, the Department of Transportation presented findings on the . And today, Borough President Marty Markowitz told us the .

“Until there is an independent assessment of these changes,” Markowitz said, “these biased DOT studies will continue to ‘prove’ what they want us to believe.”

This week the kicked into high gear, suspending northbound F/G service at 15th Street-Prospect Park, among other changes. On Tuesday, Councilmember Brad Lander was out at the station to extend the B68 line to the Seventh Avenue subway stop, and help ease some commuting pain.

Reporter Melanie White had a look at , Park Slope’s donation-based yoga studio.
