What happened this week on Park Slope Patch

It was another week of exciting developments and happenings in Park Slope. Here's our roundup of our biggest neighborhood headlines.  

Around the Slope Columnist Louise Crawford started our week off with an introduction to , author of Man With A Pan, Culinary Advenutres of Fathers who Cook for their Families.  

"Donohue, a cartoonist and editor at The New Yorker, worked at a retail fish market while in college and was a short-order cook on Block Island after his graduation," Crawford wrote. "But it was becoming a parent that transformed him into the family cook and what inspired his wonderful blog, Stay at Stove Dad."

Wednesday, we learned about a that Brad Lander has put forth creating parking permits to make moving day easier. 

McCarton Ackerman brought us an array of delicious delights from , Edible Brooklyn's annual event.

We also got a sneak preview of the wonders in store for us at the , and finally got the complete schedule for , starting with Andrew Bird on June 10th.

Amy Clark checked in with the , finding a family of goslings that had hatched against all odds. 

On Thursday, we reported that Community Board Six had unanimously restricting outdoor nightlife. 

We also checked in with the Park Slope Food Coop's , which offered a Friday night event featuring three different writers talking about making good food and making ethical consumption choices. 

On Friday, Wendy Blake reviewed the new fusion restaurant and raved about their ceviche. 

McCarton Ackerman attended a at St. Francis college in Brooklyn Heights, where Council Member Jumaane Williams advocated for giving Haitians Temporary Protected Status protection in light of the devastating January 2010 earthquake. 

"This was a fun and informative way to get the message across to people that Haiti needs help," said Crown Heights resident Neysa Etienne. "Haiti has been swept under the rug by the media as of late, so I'm thrilled that so many local leaders stepped up to make people aware that the crisis is far from over."

On Saturday, we got the news that the Pavilion movie theater is under and being fixed up. 

Denise McClean capped the week off right by introducing us to , the Prospect Park Zoo's pair of very handsome alpacas.
