What happened this week on Park Slope Patch.

It was another big week of news in Park Slope. Here’s our roundup of the biggest (and most interesting) headlines in the neighborhood this week.

On Monday, columnist Louise Crawford talked about the curiosities one stumbles upon in the neighborhood – and talked with locals about some of their favorite window watching sights.

We also had the scoop on the newest addition to Prospect Park Zoo – a female .

Tuesday, news broke about a new bar battle on the horizon: at a Monday night community board meeting, for Pacific Street, right across from the Barclays Center arena. Locals said the area is already oversaturated with nightlife.

Then we took a look at a proposed by State Senator Joan Millman that would limit the hours on backyard and sidewalk eating and drinking areas at city bars and restaurants.

Some headway was also made this week on the Gowanus cleanup. A out the framework for how the Gowanus Superfund Community Advisory Group will navigate the long, hard road ahead as cleanup begins – but it also allows “Potentially Responsible Parties” to vote on the cleanup efforts.

Word also got out about a a group of local parents intend to file against Mayor Michael Bloomberg over Cathie Black – for $100 million.

On Thursday, very sad news broke: , 22, communications director to Councilmember Steve Levin and an up-and-comer in New York politics, was found dead in her Boerum Hill apartment. The cause of death has yet to be revealed. On Friday, her friends and colleagues as a smart and persistent woman who cared deeply about her community.

But perhaps the biggest news of the week broke late Friday afternoon: authorities arrested 12 dealers in the neighborhood after an undercover investigation.
