The Fifth Avenue Family Festival is Almost Here!

The event will take place for the second year in a row on April 30.

Here’s one for the kids.

This month the returns to Park Slope for a second time – an event chock-full of fun-filled festivities for both kids and kids at heart.

The free event, which takes place on April 30 on Fourth Street, between Washington Park and MS 51, will boast everything from face painting to mask and puppet-making activities for the little ones. The New York Hall of Science will even be on hand to discuss the science of bubbles.

“It was a huge success last year. The fair was spectacular,” said Irene LoRe, executive director of the Fifth Avenue BID, which hosts the festival alongside the Park Slope-based children’s theater Puppetry Arts. “If you have little ones it’s hard to find something geared just towards them. This is the stroller crossroads of the world – so we thought we’d do something just for the kids!”

Along with all the fun crafts and activities, Brooklyn Cyclones mascot Sandy the Seagull will be on hand to oversee a batting cage. Like last year, Stormtroopers and Jedi Knights will be there to meet and greet budding Star Wars fans.

“It’s a purely kids day on Fifth Avenue,” said LoRe. “We want to keep the neighborhood a place where things are happening, and give people yet another reason to like where they live.”
