Spend New Year’s Eve in Prospect Park!

Ring in 2013 with fireworks or a 5K run.

There are so many things you could do to ring in the New Year in Brooklyn, but Prospect Park should be on the top of your list.

From 10 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.
at the Grand Army Plaza Arch (Union Street side) come and enjoy coffee, dessert and food from some of New York's best-known food trucks, like Mud Truck, Rickshaw Dumplings and Wafels and Dinges.

At 11 p.m. tonight, come to Grand Army Plaza and enjoy the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks. This event, sponsored by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, will start off your New Year with bright dazzling display in the sky.

If you’re a runner, don’t miss this race, for it’s the only nighttime run in Prospect Park all year. The race starts at 11:15 p.m., leaving you time to savor a cup of complimentary hot chocolate and/or sparkling cider prior to the fireworks at midnight! Runners, walkers and families welcome. Packet pick-up begins at 10:15 p.m. at Ninth Street inside the park entrance. Registration prices are $40 if you did not register early.
