South Slope Summer Stroll to Close Fifth Avenue Tonight

Fifth Avenue will temporarily turn into a marketplace starting at 5 p.m.

Fifth Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic tonight between 12th and 18th Streets for the first of two South Slope Summer Strolls.

From 5 to 9 p.m., the festival will feature local vendors, food, live music, arts and crafts and other activities as Fifth transforms into a public space. Food and drink from nearby bars and restaurants will also be available.

Fire performers are slated to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. near 17th Street.

The South Slope Summer Stroll is sponsored by the Park Slope Avenue Improvement District, which promotes and maintains businesses along or near Fifth Avenue.
