Slow Poke: A Snail’s Tale

A snail sighting in Prospect Park.

As a rain fell in Prospect Park on a gloomy Thursday afternoon, nothing seemed to happen. Something newsworthy must have been about to happen, but at that particular moment, it felt as though nothing of consequence was occurring.

As the rain fell harder, small puddles formed in divots throughout the park. In one perfectly small puddle, near the Third Street entrance on Prospect Park West, a thumb-sized snail slurped through the water, and nothing else seemed to happen.

The snail was alive and well as passersby scurried under trees or into their apartments across the street.

Being that it is an election year, if you and other registered voters scream loudly enough, someoneRead More will hear you. This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
