This week it was business as usual at Here’s Park Slope, with tons of news about openings, closing and changes to Park Slope businesses. First up, after nearly 40 years in business, Seventh Avenue’s City Casuals is retiring. Later in the week the blog brought word that classic Slope dive bar O'Connor's will soon be serving up some big changes – including a kitchen and outdoor “beer garden.”

Effed in Park Slope brought to life some earth-shattering news: according to a Shop It To Me survey of purchasing habits, Slopers are most into Anne Taylor Loft and North Face. The blog also had a great review of new, kid-friendly Union Street gastropub PS Brooklyn`.

Over at Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn, popular Park Slope pediatrician is now writing a column called “The Doctor is In.” The column will tackle a wide range of issues of interest to parents of children of all ages.” Blogger Louise Crawford also broke the news that Park Slope’s Congregation Beth Elohim will soon put their services, classes and events online.

Huffington Post jumped into the already deafening conversation on the Prospect Park West bike lanes with an opinion piece from Joel Epstein. “Take it from me, stuck in traffic on the freeways, cities don't thrive when things are done the way they always have been and cars take precedence over the residents,” he writes.

And finally, Brownstoner took a look at the progress to the Petco store going in at Seventh Avenue between Berkeley and Union streets.  had a lot of Slope news this week.
