Our weekly round up of what others are saying and reporting about the neighborhood

This week in cyberspace, Effed in Park Slope, had a great interview with local author Amy Sohn. Though our favorite thing on the blogosphere this week was FiPS’ tale of the Park Slope Food Coop member who accidentally locked his shiftmates inside while rushing home to watch Castle (which, as it turned out, wasn’t even on that night!).

Meanwhile, Here’s Park Slope brought news that a new outdoor outfitters called Gear to Go opened on Garfield between Seventh and Eighth streets. He also had the scoop on a new steampunk inspired bar coming to the old Total Wine Bar space and a bike shop coming to Fifth Avenue between 10th and 11th streets in the space that used to be home to Jeans Express.

Over at Crain’s Real Estate Deal Watch, we learned that our very own Beer Table is launching an operation in Grand Central, where it will sell growlers of beer.

And finally, The Windsor Terrace Blog spread the news that Uncle Louie G’s is open for the season – a sure sign that spring might actually arrive at any moment.
