On the Blogs

This week in cyberspace, Effed in Park Slope brought news that Seventh Avenue hotspot Thistle Hill Tavern was named “Best Neighborhood Joint” in the Time Out New York Food and Drink Awards. The blog also followed up on that mysterious roll of film that was found in Prospect Park after last year’s blizzard and then developed by a Sloper: turns out the photos have been safely returned to their owner … in Paris!

The Windsor Terrace Blog had good news: the Brooklyn Public Library will waive fines for folks who return their overdue books between April 1 and 30.

Here’s Park Slope had the scoop on a few openings. First up, an ice cream shop called Sky Ice is coming to the former Buttercups Paw-tisserie, at 63 Fifth Avenue. An eyeglass store is slated for the recently vacated Video Forum storefront on Seventh Avenue. And finally, South Brooklyn Pizza opened this week on Seventh Avenue and First Street.
