On Earth Day, A Look at a Polluted Waterway

The editors of Carroll Gardens and Park Slope Patch take a stroll along the Gowanus Canal.

In honor of the 41st Earth Day, on Friday we decided to take a look at our neighborhood's filthiest asset – the Gowanus Canal.

Straddling the borders of Carroll Gardens and Park Slope, the canal is sometimes almost as charming as it is vile. Take a peek at what we encountered along our stroll.
