Moonlight Walking Tour in Green-Wood Cemetery

The Green-Wood Historic Fund will host a Moonlight Walking Tour through the Cemetery's Catacombs on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Do you want to do the moonwalk?

Come to Green-Wood Cemetery, armed with a flashlight, and follow tour guide and cemetery historian Jeff Richman under a full moon to , an above-ground burial tunnel filled with family crypts dating back to the 1850s.

There will also be live "mystical" music played by an accordion, juts for good measure.

You get a chance to see the some of the 560,000 permanent residents' tombs and crypts of luminaries like De Witt Clinton, American artist William Holbrook Beard and many others. The tour will also include a visit to Battle Hill where the Battle of Brooklyn was fought in 1776.

Participants must bring a flashlight.

Meet inside the main gate, at 25th Street at Fifth Avenue at 8:30 p.m.

The tour runs until 10:15 p.m. and tickets are $15 for members of the Green-Wood Historic Fund and $20 for non-members.
