Commiserate with fellow single Brooklynites at Union Hall’s power ballad sing-a-long, where you can work out your love issues whilst screaming along to classic heartbreak tunes by the likes of Cyndi Lauper, R. Kelly and Journey. There will also be a contest for the best "Worst Break Up" story.

An American anti-Valentine’s tradition comes to Southpaw this year, with rocker and songwriter Syd Straw’s annual Heartwreck Show. Straw, who began her career singing backup for Pat Benatar, rocks out in all her lovelorn glory, alongside her band Orkestraw Plankton and special guests.

Nurse your bitter heart at the Bell House tonight with the cult-favorite live comedy series, The Rejection Show. The evening features the series' best breakup, heartbreak and love related performances/stories from their book, Rejected: Tales of the Failed Dumped & Canceled, as well as the show. Expect an evening of love song karaoke, live music and a party featuring performances from comedians, writers and musicians.

Use Valentine's Day as an excuse to listen to the greatest music ever: love songs. Everyone knows musicians and songwriters feed on heartache, and glean inspiration from beauty and cuteness and all that. At Littlefield Tuesday night, listen to some great artists perform duets that both celebrate, and lament, the thing called love.
