New York Methodist Hospital to Host Red Stocking Soirée

A fundraiser for the uninsured will include food tastings and an auction.

Park Slope's will host its first-ever Red Stocking Soirée on November 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. The annual “red stocking appeal,” one of the oldest in the country, raises funds so that the uninsured and underinsured can get the care they need.

The event hopes to raise funds in an upscale setting, with wine and food tastings from local Brooklyn restaurants like , and . There will also be an auction of holiday stockings designed and autographed by Rachael Ray, the cast of Broadway's Godspell, Mario Batali, Borough President Marty Markowitz and The Real Housewives of New York City’s Alex McCord.

The Soirée will be held in the cafeteria at Carrington Pavilion, 506 Sixth Street. Tickets for the event are $100 per person and may be purchased by phone at (718) 780-5343 or online at nym.org/redstocking.
