Great Escape! Take a Walk on the Wild Side

After months of bundling up indoors this very cold winter, many of us are itching for a breath of fresh air.

Temperatures will dip back down into the 40s this weekend, but that doesn’t mean you have to shun the outdoors. This Sunday, head to Prospect Park and let an urban park ranger guide you on a hike around the , that pretty body of water surrounding the historic Prospect Park Boathouse.

You’ll hike a nice, easy route while learning about all about the history of the area’s bridges and boathouse, and observing the area in all its white winter glory.

The tour is free and meets at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Audubon Center.

It’s perhaps not quite as good as a lungful of fresh country air, but certainly closer to home.
