Prospect Concerts: Mamie Minch with Wool & Grant

Where/When: The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, 53 Prospect Park W, Friday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Mamie Minch is known around town for her Piedmont-style fingerpicking chops, her big deep voice and her self-penned antique-sounding songs. Bev Grant and Ina May Wool create a musical alchemy of fire and feistiness, wisdom and wit, rocking clear-eyed political songs along with a window on to their travels.

Party Like It’s 1999: Sabrina in September Edition

Where/When: The Bell House, 149 7th St, Friday, Sept. 28 at 10 p.m.

Why Go: If you’re old enough to remember Sabrina the Teenage Witch then you are most certainly old enough to enjoy partying like it’s the 90s to rock, pop, R&B and hip-hop from the decade.

Cost: Free!

Reggae In The Slope

Where/When: 837-839 Union St, Friday, Sept. 28 at 9:30 p.m.

Why Go: Once a month, NY Reggae artists unite to bring Park Slope the finest Jamaican music in the city. The event always features live bands and boss DJs. Always with respect to the originators.

Cost: $10

Stories About the Body: A Yoga and Storytelling Workshop

Where/When: Bend & Bloom Yoga, 708 Sackett St, Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.

Why Go: We will begin our experience with a heart opening yoga practice to free up the anatomy of the upper torso and find a place of deep comfort and improved breath awareness. The short yoga practice will set the foundation for creative introspection and honesty. We will then learn how to tell a story that only you can tell: Your story. We will explore different ways to listen to ourselves and others, engage in collaborative story excavation exercises and learn specific tools and methods to tell your story.

Cost: $35

Tamar-kali: Pseudoacoustic

Where/When: Brooklyn Academy of Music, 30 Lafayette Ave, Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Afro-punk artist Tamar-Kali presents Pseudoacoustic, which yokes NYC rock and string/torch songs. 

Cost: $20

Pizza Plus Celebrates 25TH Anniversary

Where/When: 359 7th Ave, Sunday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m.

Why Go: Join Pizza Plus as we celebrate being a part of this amazing neighborhood for over 25 years. We have a fun filled afternoon of face painting, balloon artists, games, wine tasting and of course plenty of pizza and drinks.
