Why Go: Pyeng Threadgill’s music has been heard regularly on radio, in front of audiences as varied as New York’s iconoclast downtown venues Nublu and Joe’s Pub, The Montreal Jazz Festival, Detroit Institute of The Arts, The Sun Side Jazz Club in Paris and more and even on the big screen.

Second Chance Toys Holiday Toy Drive

Where/When: 808 Union St, Friday, Dec. 14 all day

Why Go: Come drop off toys for the less fortunate at anytime today. Second Chance Toys is a charitable organization that collects gently used plastic toys, then cleans and redistributes them to children in need.

 The organization is holding a toy drive for gently used plastic toys on December 14 to 17.

Cost: Free! 

Festive Holiday Concert                                       

Where/When: Saint John's Episcopal Church, 139 Saint Johns Pl, Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Come for a night filled with music, wine and giving back. This Festive Holiday Concert (including some sing-alongs ) will be followed by wine and light refreshments and all the proceeds will benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief. The concert will feature Saint John's Soloists Mary Jane Dingledy (soprano), James Newman (bass baritone) and Angela Pinti (soprano).

Cost: Free!

The Winderland Romp Holiday Party

Where/When: Littlefield Art & Performance Space, 622 Degraw St, Saturday, Dec. 15 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Call it Christmas in a New Orleans cathouse, circa 1932: Dance to sweaty old jazz from cult favorites The Hot Sardines. Coo at the sugarplums of burlesque performers The Ivory Fox and Miss Coney Island 2011, Lefty Lucy. Get lulled into a state of sublime bliss from the angelic holiday serenades of Maya Solovey. Be on the lookout for a surprise visit from the elusive Chanukah Elf! Work on your last truly epic hangover of 2012 with our $5 "Rosy Cheeks" holiday punch drink special.

Breakfast with Santa

Where/When: 3159 Flatbush Ave, Sunday, Dec. 16 at 9 a.m.
