Why Go: This Friday there’s really only one thing you should be doing: checking out Roy Hargrove at Celebrate Brooklyn. The exuberant jazz trumpeter will be playing his signature jazz/R&B blend – always a good time.

Why Go: Two years ago Saturday, Michael Jackson died. Celebrate the King of Pop’s life (and music) at Union Hall with sing-a-long and dance to MJ's classic videos. Of course, there will be a costume contest and dance off, too.

Where/When: Green-Wood Cemetery, Saturday at 12 a.m.

Why Go: Don’t miss the chance to catch a midnight showing of “The Spoon River Project” at Green-Wood Cemetery. The spooky show—about the dead residents from a town called Spoon River—takes place amongst the headstones at Green-Wood.

Why Go: This kid-friendly adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” about a group of construction workers in Prospect Park is fun for the whole family. Plus, kids can play in the park fountain afterwards!

Where/When: Issue Project Room, Sunday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Rooftop Films hosts the New York premiere of "Family Instinct," a dark comedy about a family in Latvia. There will be music before the show, and a Q&A with filmmaker Andris Gauja afterwards.
