Find out what's happening in Park Slopewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: Old American Can Factory, 232 3rd St, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: All good things must come to an end, and this is closing time for Rooftop Films Summer Series at Old American Can Factory. The last one is special for it is featuring the world premiere of "World's Best Dad" on Friday at 9pm, and a slew of fantastic short films on Saturday.

Where/When: Prospect Park at the Audubon Center (at the Boathouse which is located inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to the Park), Saturday at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Children 15 and under, accompanied by parent or guardian, will learn how to fishing for fun, fishing safely, and will pick up some fish-friendly techniques, all while casting their lines on a spectacular summer day in the Park!  

Cost: Free!

 

Where/When: Central Library's Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plz, Saturday at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Story Play is a great place for your newborns through 5-year-olds, can play together with toys and hear fun stories. 

Cost: Free!

Where/When: Picada y Vino Wine Shop, 327 5th Ave., Saturday at 4 p.m.

Why Go: Wine drinkers will enjoy the educational tastings, which for some weeks might include a little something tasty—a picada—carefully chosen to harmonize with the selections. Events sometimes highlight a series of wines from a featured geographic region.  

Cost: Free!

Where/When: Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, Grand Army Plaza, Sunday at 11 a.m.

Why Go: The NYC Food Truck Association is bringing New York's best food trucks to Prospect Park, with the help of the Prospect Park Alliance. Eat Maine lobster from The Red Hook Lobster Pound and then grab a cone from Vanleeuwen Ice Cream.  

Cost: Free to enter the plaza.
