Why Go: Grab the kids and head to the Lefferts House in Prospect Park for an afternoon of songs and storytelling by Lefferts House musician and yarn-spinner Tammy Hall.

Why Go: Every Saturday night, the Brooklyn Lyceum hosts Gentrify Brooklyn Comedy, an evening showcasing some of the city’s most talented improvisers, stand-ups, and sketch comedians. It’s side-splitting fun, but light on the wallet.

Where/When: The Gowanus Dredgers Boat House (Gowanus and Second Street), Saturday

Why Go: Get out of the house and see Brooklyn from a canoe! Every Saturday, Brooklynites can head down to the Gowanus Dredgers’ headquarters and rent a canoe for free.

Where/When: , Sunday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: If you’re aching to have your knowledge seriously tested, head to Pacific Standard on Sunday night. Their weekly trivia night is known for its seriously hard questions!
