Why Go: Grab the kids and head to the Lefferts House in Prospect Park for an afternoon of songs and storytelling by Lefferts House musician and yarn-spinner Tammy Hall.

Why Go: Every Saturday night, the Brooklyn Lyceum hosts Gentrify Brooklyn Comedy, an evening showcasing some of the city’s most talented improvisers, stand-ups, and sketch comedians. It’s side-splitting fun, but light on the wallet.

Where/When: The Gowanus Dredgers Boat House (Gowanus and Second Street), Saturday

Why Go: Get out of the house and see Brooklyn from a canoe! Every Saturday, Brooklynites can head down to the Gowanus Dredgers’ headquarters and rent a canoe for free.

Where/When: , Sunday at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Head to the monthly Kings County General Store to snatch up great design, art, clothing and more. And while you’re there, be sure to check out all the yummy food vendors.
