Frank Sinatra the Dog Needs a Home

A new Park Sloper, whose landlord doesn’t allow dogs, needs your help in finding her three-year-old pup a new family.

Frank Sinatra, a Siberian Husky, is three years old and weighs 65 pounds. He is micro-chipped, current on all his shots, is on a regular Frontline regimen and is in great health.

The owner, Stacey Robertson just moved to Park Slope. However, her landlord does not allow dogs.

Robertson is offering “all his food and medications, and some sort of boarding fee” for whoever can give him a good home.

Sinatra does not bark, is well behaved and playful. Robertson also said that, “He is really furry.”

If you can take him in and offer a decent home, please contact Stacey Robertson at stacey@staceyrobertson.com.

I will never give my dog away. I will find a place that allow dogs. this is so unfair to Frankie.

I agree Bon! This is why I would essentially like to rent a backyard space as a temporary solution, so that I don't have to send Frankie away to Georgia to live with my sister. Frankie is a social dog and would absolutely love Brooklyn. He doesn't need an owner, he just needs a yard. If you have any ideas, I'm all ears! -Stacey

This makes me angry, and I don't usually get angry at 8:45am on a Wednesday.
This is so selfish. I live in Park Slope, and own a dog. It is not that difficult to find a "pet allowed" apartment. I've helped a few friends in the past, and even as recent as last week. Of course there are beautiful apartments that are not pet friendly, but those are the apartments you pass on, because you own a dog. If you find a place that you love, that doesn't allow dogs, you pass. Because you own a dog. I don't know if this is about the ridiculous 'wanting' to live in Park Slope more than other areas, but I am just shocked that after 3 years, any pet owner can just give it up for a certain zip code. Gross.

This is so sad, but I do agree with Kelsey. If you get a dog, it's your responsibility to find apartments that allow dogs. if the apt is going to be more important to you than the dog, maybe you shouldn't have gotten it in the first place...

Gorgeous dog. Your post is confusing. Temporary solution? How temporary? Nowhere in Brooklyn can you rent just a yard. Find him a responsible owner this time.

Kelsey hit it exactly... I've never understood why people with dogs even look at apartments that don't allow dogs...

Solution: Date someone with a yard

Just an FYI, Stacey, a dog DOES need an owner – as in a caretaker, friend and advocate – and not necessarily a yard. Hoping Frank Sinatra finds a loving and loyal home and owner.

When you decided to move to Park Slope did you wake up and just show up?
I moved to Arizona for a year in 2004 used the internet to find a dozen apartments that were pet friendly and went 2 months ahead of the move to find one that fit our needs. Not only that but I drove the moving truck to Arizona and went to two Penske rental places to find a truck with the door that slides into the container and made him a doggie cubby so that he could be comfortable during the trip! When you have a pet its like you have a kid its a lifetime commitment unless something so drastic changes in your life you need to give them up.

I dont see a new bathroom. I see an ancient 1950s era bathroom right down to the black and whiteRead More tile and teh slideing gas cabinet! and you want 1.2million?

Being that it is an election year, if you and other registered voters scream loudly enough, someoneRead More will hear you. This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
