DON'T MISS: Traffic Safety Forum at United Methodist Church

Forum on traffic safety to be held Tuesday night.

Given the ever-present dangers and recent tragic death of 12-year-old Samuel Cohen-Eckstein on at Prospect Park West in October, parents, elected officials and advocates are gathering Tuesday to discuss traffic safety on neighborhood streets.

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Park Slope United Methodist Church, 410 6th Avenue (between 7th and 8th Streets) and touch on lowering speed limits, greater enforcement of traffic laws and traffic safety education.

Community groups and members at the forum will be: Amy Cohen and Gary Eckstein, parents of Sammy Cohen-Eckstein, the NYPD 78th Precinct, Department of Transportation, City Council Member Brad Lander, Park Slope Parents, Park Slope Neighbors, Park Slope Civic Council and Transportation Alternatives.
