Don't Miss It: Food For Thought With the Park Slope Civic Council

Fundraiser featuring over 15 Park Slope restaurants will benefit students.

Join the Park Slope Civic Council as they take the term "Food for Thought" to the next level with a food and drink fundraiser for education on Oct. 9, 2013 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Featuring food from local restaurants, drinks, music and more, tickets are on sale for $75 per person ($100 after October 4) and are available at www.parkslopeciviccouncil.org/food-for-thought. All proceeds go to support the education scholarship program.

As they do each year, the council will award three education scholarships to outstanding high school seniors graduating from each of the Secondary Schools at John Jay High School who also show a commitment to community service. The goal is to establish an endowment for the scholarships from the surplus funds raised by the event in future years. Last year's event raised around $15,000, according to the Civic Council.
