Brooklyn Public Library Debuts Mobile App

"My BPL" allows library members to search catalog by title or ISBN, create to-read lists and more.

Now you can take the Brooklyn Public Library with you in the form of a library card for the 21st century.

A new mobile app, "My BPL" for the iPhone and Android gives members a direct line to the library's catalog of books and digital media. This app allows them to search for titles by name or by scanning a work's ISBN number, manage their account including renewing signed out items or placing holds.

"We are excited to put all that Brooklyn Public Library has to offer at the fingertips of our patrons. The way people learn and access information is changing, and we are committed to modernizing and updating our services," Brooklyn Public Library President & CEO Linda E. Johnson said in a release.

The iPhone version of My BPL is available for download from Apple's App Store, while the Android version is on Google Play.
