In October 2010, Patch began tracking the progress at what was then a cleared-out lot at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic avenues, promising "to take note as each beam is raised and each wall is erected."

Nearly two years later, there are few, if any, beams left to be raised, and no more walls left to be built.

As it happens, the arena was supposed to get its TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy) on Sept. 5. It likely will be at least a week late. They're scrambling to finish, and have not announced the "weeks" of public events/tours they once promised. More here:

You're celebrating the destruction of a neighborhood? We should all be donning sackcloth and ashes and mourning the loss of our borough. It will bring in more traffic, more drugs, more crime, more of everything bad and very little good to offset it.

Being that it is an election year, if you and other registered voters scream loudly enough, someoneRead More will hear you. This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
