The Best Thing We Ate This Week: Applewood's Eggs, Grits, Biscuits and Sausage

A simple, yet delicious meal.

I'd have to say the best thing we ate this week was the three organic egg plate with grits, a biscuit and a side of pork sausage at .

The 11th Street restaurant, which features an ever-changing menu, is committed to serving locally grown organic meat, poultry, fish, vegatables and fruit.

The eggs, although the yolks could have been more runny, tasted fresh and rich. The pork sausage was made in-house and had a dense full flavor with just enough spice.

The grits, although they needed some pepper and butter for my taste, the Southern side was thick, hearty and kept me warm on the windy Autumn afternoon.

The plate was simple and I thought I would regret not getting the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, but the breakfast dish was carefully cooked, tasted fresh and the portion was ample enough to keep me full until dinner.

But it was so delicious that I am thinking about going back tonight.
