Brooklyn Based Heart to Heart Social Adult Day Service Opens Warming Station for Local Residents During Cold Snap

Heart to Heart Social Adult Day Service is providing a warming station for local residents seeking refuge from record-low temperatures and below zero degree windchills in the Brooklyn area.

Brooklyn, NY (January 7, 2014) - Heart to Heart, an emerging Home Health Care and Social Adult Day Service provider servicing the New York and New Jersey area, will be opening the doors of one of its Brooklyn offices today as a warming station for community residents in response to extremely low temperatures this morning across New York City. Managed by Heart to Heart staff, the warming station will include free hot refreshments, warm meals and blankets. Local residents are welcome to come in and warm up as staff will also be providing tips on how to keep warm during cold weather.

Central Park broke a 118 year record today, with temperatures dropping to 5 degrees and strong winds created a sub-zero wind chill in the city. This presents a huge swing of almost 50 degrees within one day. The temperature is expected to peak at 14 degrees in the Prospect-Lefferts Garden area of Brooklyn, remaining in the low teens for much of the day through early tomorrow morning. Gusty winds throughout the day and night will keep much of New York City trapped with sub-zero degree wind chills as low as -10 degrees.
