Irreverent Real Estate: Change is Good

Hello again Dearest Readers!

Change is in the air! While the snow is lightly falling, and folks in Brooklyn are cozying up at home, eating manchego and whole grain crackers on the couch and watching Amazon Prime, I have been moving (and moving again) to new real estate digs! I left Corcoran in Park Slope in December and joined TOWN Residential in the West Village! (started out on at TOWN on the Upper East Side but just couldn’t resist the pull back towards the borough). Why on earth would I leave my delightful Brooklyn office, you ask? It was certainly not an easy decision, but after 3 good years at The Corcoran Group I thought a new experience with a smaller, perhaps fresher and more personal, firm (that offers a concierge service for every single customer (yes-that’s you))  might be good for me and my very special customers! Plus TOWN offered me a gig in their new swanky office on 14th street a block from the Highline. The place is, frankly, too cool for me -- but they are willing to have me anyway. (Come for a visit-there aren’t a lot of public bathrooms around here-and we have a lovely roof garden and free coffee. I promise only to talk about real estate if you actually want to).

So now - business. I will continue to work on both sides of the bridge-perhaps even slightly more in Brooklyn. I have lived in Brooklyn for over 15 years and have been in touch with real estate as an owner and a salesperson here for all that time. I grew up in Manhattan though, and still have a real affection for, and understanding of, that borough as well. I can still remember, forgive me, when the Meatpacking District was about packing meat. (which can also be a bit of a crude double entendre if you know something about NYC in the ‘80s)

Future blogs here will be of a more useful, and less personal nature- I just wanted to update any of you that might still be hanging in there with me about my move.

Please feel free to contact me for low, or no, pressure real estate advice. I will soon be producing a series of videos (using sock puppets I believe) explaining real estate concepts you might be interested in in 3 minutes or less. I plan to host them on You Tube. I'll let you know and will post links here.

Hang in there NYC. The days will get warmer and longer soon enough, And yes, everyone in New York does have Seasonal Affective Disorder right now- have you seen the folks on the subway? Don't worry – it’s not just you.

Best New Year’s wishes to you and those you love!,
