Reading at Community Bookstore and Union Hall Performances Wednesday

Events and goings on in and near Park Slope.

Good morning, Park Slope. Here are some things going on in and near the neighborhood. 

- Start (or end) your day at the brand new Barclays Green Market taking place Wednesdays at the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Join writer and historian Susie Pak, author of Gentlemen Bankers: The World of J. P. Morgan, at the Community Bookstore at 7 p.m. for a look at the complex web of financial, social, and political relationships among Wall Street’s early 20th-century aristocracy, and how those relationships amplified their power and influence. You can RSVP on Facebook here.  

- The Brooklyn District Attorney Candidates' Forum will begin at 7 p.m. at St. Francis College, located at 180 Remsen St. Find out where the candidates stand on issues including stop-and-frisk, drug policy, alternatives to incarceration, civil rights, the relationship between law enforcement and public health.

- At Union Hall at 702 Union St., Georgia-based duo Magnets & Ghosts will perform at 8 p.m. The pair will be followed by Krissy Krissy, a 23-year-old singer hailing from Brooklyn. 

- For a laugh, there's Dean Street Comedy beginning at 9 p.m.
