Top Chef Alum’s Talde to Open on Sunday

The new Asian-American restaurant from Top Chef alum Dale Talde and the Thistle Hill Tavern team, will open in Park Slope this weekend.

Talde, the hotly anticipated new restaurant by Top Chef alum Dale Talde, will open at 369 Seventh Avenue on Sunday, according to the New York Times.

Patch reported the opening back in July, when it was announced that owner David Massoni would partner with bartender John Bush and Talde to open an Asian-American eatery in the space that once housed Rattigan’s Bar & Grill.

Talde’s menu will feature small plates like Saigon crepes with smoked shrimp, Chinese bacon and mint ($11), Hawaiian bread buns with fillings like Filipino pork sausage and Long Island fluke ($9), as well as main courses like Korean fried chicken with spicy yoghurt-kimchee, mint and grapes ($23), and crispy oyster and bacon pad thai ($15).

The menu is influenced by Talde’s own culinary history as a Filipino-American chef who has worked in upscale New York and Chicago restaurants – most notably, as Creative Director of Asian Concepts at Buddakan.

The Times describes the interior as decorated with “richly carved 19th century Japanese mahogany furnishings” from Scranton, Pa., as well as antiques from Arnold Constable’s upstate mansion.

“We’re going to keep it casual, warm and friendly, regardless of the cuisine,” Massoni told Patch over the summer.
