Park Slope Has Some of Brooklyn's Best Blocks, Says L Magazine

Park Slope is home to more than a few of "Brooklyn's 50 Best Blocks," according to The L Magazine.

The L Magazine recently made a round-up of what they think are the "50 Best Blocks in Brooklyn," and Park Slope got a few shout-outs for interesting reasons, though happily dodging the “Worst-Smelling Block” and “Worst Block to Live On” categories.

The “Best Block for Schadenfreude” is apparently Ninth Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues—The L Magazine simply says: “Have fun pushing your strollers up and down that hill, breeders.” Ouch!

Bergen Street, between Fifth and Flatbush avenues, is the “Best Unexpected Retail Block,” with quirky and unique shopping options like , , , and Ride Brooklyn.

The “Bluest Block” prize goes to Union Street, between Sixth and Seventh avenues, mostly for “the well-heeled collectivism of the Park Slope Food Co-op,” says the magazine.

And the “Best Block for Pretending it’s the 19th Century,” goes to side street Webster Place, at the southern end near the Prospect Expressway, with its “beautiful row of meticulously restored colonial rowhouses.”
