A group of kids, all wearing Giants jerseys, ran down Fifth Avenue towards First Street, shouting, “The Giants rock! The Giants Rock!”

One of the kids, who was wearing an Eli Manning jersey, said that the Giants quarter back is the “best.”

Then—as a car pulled up and a mother yelled, “Get home now!”—before they scrammed down the street, he said, “The game was boss!”

Maria Serrano and Maria Cordero, celebrating on the corner of Carroll Street with five others all clad in Giant apparel, said they were watching the game at .

Cordero, who came to Park Slope from the Bronx, said she felt outstanding.

“I came to this neighborhood to represent NY with all my friends,” Cordero said, who was wearing a Giants T-shirt. “The Giants are awesome. With one minute left we scored and then defense held it down and won the game.”

With just over one minute in the fourth quarter, Giants down 15 to 17, Ahmed Bradshaw literally took a seat in the end zone, ball in hand, for a touchdown to win the game. It was the last points scored and the Giants beat the Patriots 21 to 17.

The win even brought canines out to celebrate on the avenue. Pippin, a French bulldog, was wearing a Giants jersey and standing among the group who spilled out of High Dive.

Going into the Super Bowl, the Giants had a weak record, 9-7, and were considered the underdogs. However, they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl of 2008 and even earlier this season.

A highlight of the game was when there was just about three minutes left, Manning threw a beautiful 38-yard pass to Mario Manningham.

After the game, ESPN showed an interview of Manningham who said, “It was just a catch.” But then he elaborated, “Manning put the ball out there and we as a team said, ‘We are going to win this.’”

As Park Slope continued to celebrate, a car pulled up to a red light. Its windows were down and Queen’s “We are the champions” was blasting.

When the passenger was asked how she felt, the car began to pull away and she said, “We are the champions, we are the champions, to the end…”
