Local Valentine's Day Gift Advice: Bird Knows What You Should Get Your Beau

With time running out, Bird, a Fifth Avenue shop, got you covered with great gift ideas for the day reserved for love.

Are you in a pickle: Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and you haven’t gone shopping yet?

Well, Park Slope Patch got the scoop from local business owners on what to get your beau.

Jen Mankins, the owner of Bird on Fifth Avenue between Second and Third streets, gave us two gift ideas, one for a man and one for a woman.

“I think it could be cute to get the MCMC fragrances for him and her,” Mankins said. “The classic organic ‘Love scent’ for her and the all-natural beard oil for him [are both great gifts].”

For her, get the Hunter MCMC organic roll-on fragrance for $45.

The creator of the perfume, Anne McClain, studied the art of modern perfumery in Grasse, France before coming to Brooklyn to create her small-batch bottles of “meaningful fragrances” by hand.

The 10 mL roll-on bottle is unisex, but Mankins suggests it would be a great gift for a woman. Hunter’s sent is a mix of balsam fir, tobacco and organic vanilla bourbon.

For him, get the MCMC all-natural beard oil Dude No. 1 for $65.

Considering that the beard is back in style, Mankins said it’s a perfect gift.

“Lots of my Brooklyn guys have beards and love this conditioning oil, especially since the weather's so cold and dry,” Mankins told Patch. “They are all organic and made here in Brooklyn.”

Dude No. 1’s notes is fresh, spicy and woody. The beard oil blends Virginia cedarwood, pink peppercorn and coriander.

Here's my idea for a great Valatine Day celebration

Breakfast in Bed (problem here is who gets out of bed?) croissants & jelly with great Java

Lunch in Bed (you might still be in bed - so the other person gets out of bed) quiche with a salad

Dinner - OK you both have to be up for your fav cheese and wine (and music)
