Does ‘Hollywood’ Take Your Parking Spot too Often?

The yellow tow away signs stating that “,” “Louie,” or Mike Birbiglia’s new movie “” is filming in Park Slope and will be taking your parking spot, are not uncommon to see posted on our street signs and streetlight posts.

Although it is a form of flattery that movies and TV shows are filmed in Park Slope, it can also be a headache for drivers and even pedestrians. “You need to cross! The cameras are rolling!” film crews have yelled out recently, during a filming of Louis CK’s TV show “Louie” at the on Seventh Avenue.

But is it too much? Is “Hollywood” taking our precious—and limited—street parking?

On one of those tow away signs on Carroll Street, stating that “Boardwalk Empire” will be filming on April 6 from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. (there will be no parking on both sides of Carroll Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues, both sides of Garfield Place between Seventh Avenue and Fiske Place, both sides of Polhemus Place between Carroll Street and Garfield Place, the west side of Seventh Avenue between Carroll Street and Garfield Place and the east side of Seventh Avenue between First and President streets) some one voiced their opinion about the eminent trucks:

Across the sign in black marker someone scribbled, “Go to Hoboken!”

How do you feel? Is this just par for the course while living in a picturesque brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood? Or has it become too much for Slopers who have to drive around and around to try to find a good parking spot?
