Dive Bar Timboo’s to Close
Last call for the longtime neighborhood staple is December 31.
Dive bar Timboo’s, a neighborhood staple since 1969, will close on December 31, according to Here’s Park Slope, who spoke with longtime bartender Betty Collins.
Collins said the bar had been leased to someone else, though owners Timmy Hodgens and Bobby Booras will continue to own the building, according to the report. Here’s Park Slope says the bar hasn’t changed much since the 60s, and the “wood-paneled walls are still adorned with framed photos of heroes from the era like Joe Namath, and there's a giant shrine to the Beatles in the back room.”
to grab a cheap drink, play pool and catch a football game in a neighborhood increasingly obsessed with handcrafted cocktails. It was also one of the few places that opened at 8 a.m. on the weekdays!
